Soviet Era Photography

Wired.com released this article on Soviet-era photography as shown at the Lumiere Brothers Center for Photography. I though was really interesting how the political atmosphere heavily influenced the work right down to the composition.  It's worth a few minutes to read and flip through the slideshow.

On a current note, I was struck by this 1297 photo by Boris Ignatovich and it's "archistract" nature. What was old is now new again.
